Spring is in the air.....at least for today

It's been a long winter indoors with two little boys. I'm convinced that little boys need at least an hour of outdoor play per day to maintain a happy attitude. The weather we have been having has not been conducive to outdoor play so we were super excited when the weather today turned out to be beautiful. After Owen had his morning nap and we all ate lunch, we headed outside for a few hours to play! Bonus- Daddy was home today since he will be gone this weekend to St. Louis for a youth conference. I love when our whole family gets to enjoy a beautiful day. The boys had fun playing in their sandbox, playing ball, riding Gavin's John Deere Gator, and just running around.

Time for a water break

After we played outside for a while, we came in and I made some homemade jello jigglers. When we were home last week, mom made some and Gavin went crazy for them so she gave us some of her gelatin so we could make them when we got home. This is the second time I've made them this week! They are just as easy to make as the Jello you buy at the store thats full of super fun chemicals and artificial flavoring and colors and they taste delish! All you have to do is put one cup of 100% juice in a pyrex dish, heat another cup of juice on the stove or in the microwave, then add 2-3 tablespoons of gelatin and stir until the gelatin dissolves. Cover your pan and place in the fridge for a few hours and bam! you have some yummy jello that your whole family will love! I love that Gavin thinks he is really getting a treat and I know exactly what is going into what I'm making for him.

 The only two ingredients. Seriously, could this be any easier?

All in all, this has been a great day and I'm so glad we got outside for a bit. The weather isn't supposed to stay warm so looks like we will be inside more than we would like this week but I'm hoping it will start warming up soon and we can enjoy more beautiful days playing outside! My boys are much happier when they get some fresh air and happy boys make for a happy mommy!
